Dr. Mark Ward is an Assistant Professor in Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Trinity College Dublin. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2012 with a BA (Mod.) in Biochemistry and subsequently completed his PhD in Molecular Pharmacology in 2016.

Dr. Ward’s research focuses on the role of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) and circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) in ovarian, breast, and upper gastrointestinal cancers. His broader research interests include chemotherapy-associated venous and atrial thrombosis, the contribution of platelets and immune cells to cancer metastasis, and the mechanisms underlying NK-cell therapies in chemorefractory disease. His work explores both the biological and translational aspects of the liquid biopsy, aiming to advance precision oncology and improve patient outcomes.
